“Over the course of the last several years, I’ve continued to ask the Lord to give me songs that exist for a reason,” shares Ryan Stevenson about his new single “No Matter What”. As the song lyrics state, many of us grew up in a church that seldom emphasized God’s grace, patience and compassion. Rather, they emphasized that if we failed to live up to God’s expectation for us, He might abandon us – cast us aside.

God won’t give up on us; His love for us is unfaltering and endless. No matter what we do, even rejecting Him, He never gives up on us. In Romans 8, Paul tells us: “Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture can separate us from God’s love.”  

Ryan reminds us that even when we slip up, we’re all still sons and daughters of the Most High. His simple message to us is: “there’s never been a better time to get honest; there’s never been a better time to clean. Just come as you are, run to the cross and be free!” A re-statement of John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
